SELECTION PROCEDURE: AGNIVEER (SSR) AND AGNIVEER (MR)

Educational Qualification – Agniveer (SSR)

Qualified in 10+2 with Mathematics & Physics from Boards of School Education recognized by Ministry of Education, Govt of India, with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.

OR
Passed Three years diploma course in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Automobiles/ Computer Science/ Instrumentation Technology/ Information Technology) from Central, State and UT recognized Polytechnic Institute with 50% marks in aggregate.

OR
Passed Two years Vocational Course with Non-vocational subject viz, Physics and Mathematics from Education Boards recognized by Central, State and UT with 50% marks in aggregate.

Note: Candidates who have appeared in class 12th Board Exam and are awaiting declaration of results are also eligible to apply provided they fulfill all other eligibility criteria. Such candidates, however, shall only be selected when they produce the original marksheet during the Stage II of recruitment process (Internet copy of marksheet not acceptable) as also such candidates should secure the minimum laid down marks in aggregate as well as in individual subjects for respective category for being eligible to participate in Stage II.

Educational Qualification – Agniveer (MR)

Candidate must have passed Matriculation Examination with minimum 50% marks in aggregate from the Boards of School Education recognised by Ministry of Education, Govt. of India.

Note: Candidates who have appeared in class 10th Board Exam and are awaiting declaration of results are also eligible to apply provided they fulfill all other eligibility criteria. Such candidates, however, shall only be selected when they produce the original marksheet during the Stage II of recruitment process (Internet copy of marksheet not acceptable) as also such candidates should secure the minimum laid down marks in aggregate as well as in individual subjects for respective category for being eligible to participate in Stage II.

Physical Standards

Qualifying in Physical Fitness Test (PFT) is mandatory for selection. PFT standard is as follow: –

Visual Standards

(a) Visual Standards applicable are as follows: –

(b) Kerato Refractive Surgery Candidates who have undergone any Kerato Refractive Surgery (PRK/ LASIK/ SMILE) can be considered fit subject to the following conditions: –

  1. Surgery should not have been carried out before 20 years of age.
  2. Uncomplicated surgery at least 12 months before examination (certificate mentioning the type of refractive surgery, date of surgery and pre-operatory refractive error from concerned eye centre is to be produced by the candidate at the time of recruitment medical examination).
  3. Axial length less than or equal to 26 mm by IOL Master or A Scan.
  4. Residual corneal thickness measure by Pachymeter should not be less than 450 microns.
  5. Residual refraction less than or equal to + 1.0 D Sph or Cyl, provided within the permissible limit for the category applied for.
  6. Pre-operative refractive error not more than +/- 6.0 D.
  7. Normal retinal examination.

(c) Kerato Refractive surgery (PRK, LASIK, SMILE) is not acceptable for special cadres such as submarine, diving and MARCO. Candidates who have undergone Radial Keratotomy and Phakic Intra-Ocular Lens are permanently unfit for all branches.

Minimum Height Standards

Minimum height standards for Agniveer male and female candidates is 157cms. Further, relaxation in height is permissible to candidates holding domicile of specified areas as mentioned below: –
